Role overview
An expanding environmental company in Dublin 24 is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to strengthen its finance function. The position reports to the Head of Finance and involves leadership of a four-person team. It suits a commercially minded finance professional who can combine reporting, controls, and business partnering. The working arrangement is hybrid, with three days per week spent in the office.
Key responsibilities
- Own the preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end statutory financial statements.
- Build and review budgets, forecasts, and detailed financial analysis.
- Track business performance and turn numbers into useful commercial recommendations.
- Keep financial controls tight across cash handling, debtor management, payment processing, and reconciliations.
- Manage treasury activities and support cash flow oversight.
- Ensure compliance with VAT and Corporation Tax obligations.
- Maintain and improve reporting, controls, and processes in Microsoft Business Central.
- Work closely with operational teams on budgeting and spending decisions.
- Guide, coach, and develop members of the finance team.
- Assist with audit activity and the needs of the Audit & Risk Committee.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant with at least five years of post-qualification experience. You should have worked in a commercial, service-led environment and bring strong experience in management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and team leadership. The role also calls for excellent analytical ability, confident communication, and effective stakeholder management, along with strong IT skills across MS Office, Power BI, and Microsoft Business Central.
