Description de l'emploi
Role overview
This position is responsible for leading graphic design work for park operations, from early concept development all the way through final completion. The designer will create visual assets such as imagery, color systems, typography, logos, and graphic shapes using design software to support communications for local initiatives as well as resort-wide activations and events. The role works closely with leaders and company partners to develop internal and external materials in line with brand standards, secure the needed approvals, and provide creative solutions. It also involves coordinating with project managers and outside vendors to manage production and installation of printed materials while consistently hitting deadlines.
This is a full-time, onsite role reporting to the leader of the DLR Operations Core Support Team.
Planning and concept development
Partner with each client to define the creative vision, project scope, and design direction for each request, then document the agreed final plan with everyone involved.
Collaboration and resource sharing
Review company libraries and internal references to determine whether existing creative assets can be reused, request source files or original artwork when needed, and exchange best practices and updates with fellow graphic designers.
Vendor coordination and project cost control
Oversee bid preparation with guidance from your manager, including getting final cost approval from the client and confirming vendor agreements. Follow internal purchasing procedures and ensure the right vendors and teams are paid on schedule.
Project timeline management
Build detailed schedules for each assignment, including major milestones such as first and final client review, leader review, legal approval, and final delivery. Keep timelines current in project management tools such as Smartsheet and Microsoft Tasks.
Partner and stakeholder communication
Maintain regular communication with key stakeholders, including legal, branding, and studio teams such as Pixar, Marvel, Walt Disney Studios, Archives, and others, to obtain approvals based on how the collateral will be used.
Design and technical execution
Develop graphic materials with expert-level use of Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, and InDesign. Ensure designs account for production requirements and dimensional specifications needed for printing, fabrication, or installation.
Production oversight
Work with vendors to confirm accurate bleeds, typography, dimensions, materials, quantities, and installation details according to the agreed scope. If a vendor does not meet the requirements, take responsibility for delivering the finished product to the client.
Portfolio and experience expectations
A strong portfolio is required, with work that shows a polished design style across both digital and print projects. The portfolio must be included as a URL on the resume; other formats will not be reviewed. The role also calls for familiarity with Disney, Disneyland Resort, and Disney Cast Member history, plus experience presenting concepts and telling stories for executive audiences. Candidates should demonstrate brand stewardship, organizational strength, administrative accuracy, flexibility with shifting priorities, guest-service experience, comfort handling confidential material, and strong relationship-building skills.
Preferred qualifications
Bilingual ability in Spanish and English is preferred. Experience in video design/editing or multimedia art is an added advantage. Prior experience as a Disney Cast Member is also preferred.
Education requirement
A BA or BFA in Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with at least 5 years of relevant full-time in-house graphic design experience may also qualify.
Compensation and benefits
The salary range for this California-based role is $65,300 to $87,500 annually. Actual compensation may vary based on internal equity, geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be included, along with a full benefits package that may cover medical, financial, and other offerings depending on the level and position.
