Role overview
Prairie South School Division #210 is seeking a permanent Head Facility Operator for William Grayson School in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. This is a full-time onsite position with a 1.0 FTE and a planned start date of August 24, 2026.
Schedule
The standard working hours for this role are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
What the role involves
In addition to the regular responsibilities of a Facility Operator, this position takes charge of the facility’s daily operations and partners with the Principal and Facilities Supervisor to help train new Facility Operator employees.
Education and qualifications
- You need at least a Grade 10 diploma from a recognized school, or a GED accepted by the Board of Education.
- A valid Fireman’s certificate is required where legislation calls for it.
- You must hold a WHMIS certificate.
- At least six months of experience in cleaning or caretaking work is required.
- You should have practical computer skills.
- A valid Class 5 driver’s licence is required.
- You must be able to give clear written and verbal instructions on the safe use of caretaking supplies, cleaning equipment, and school cleaning procedures.
- You should be able to organize and carry out cleaning programs for the facility efficiently.
Physical demands
This job requires very good physical fitness and the ability to handle heavy work, including lifting or moving objects with up to 100 lbs of force occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs continuously. The role also involves working from lifts, as well as in crawlspaces, attics, on roofs, and on ladders.
Compensation and benefits
Pay follows the current CUPE Local 5512 Collective Bargaining Agreement. The listed wage is $25.62 per hour.
