About the Role
This position supports the day-to-day cleanliness and upkeep of a busy travel center in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. The work environment is fast-paced and customer-facing, with a strong focus on creating a welcoming experience for travelers, drivers, commuters, and other guests.
Pay starts at $16.00 and can go up to $18.13 per hour.
The employer values collaboration, service-minded attitudes, and an inclusive team culture. Team members may also be trained for other roles across travel centers and restaurants, depending on business needs and performance.
Key Duties
- Keep the store and surrounding areas clean and presentable at all times.
- Clean shower areas and restroom facilities.
- Wash, load, and unload towels used for showers.
- Carry out basic repairs and general maintenance tasks around the store.
- Collect trash and remove waste from the travel center premises.
- Deliver helpful guest service by maintaining well-kept facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Self-motivated and able to take initiative without constant supervision.
- Comfortable working collaboratively with other team members.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and spend most of the day walking or standing.
- Available to work a flexible schedule that may include nights, days, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Background
- Previous experience in a similar maintenance or janitorial role.
- Familiarity with industrial equipment and the ability to handle small repair issues.
