Role overview

As a Maintainer based at the Mid Waitaki Hydro Power Stations in Benmore, Aviemore, and Waitaki, you will carry out a mix of industrial and general cleaning tasks across the hydro sites. The work also includes supporting upkeep activities to help keep the stations safe, tidy, and functioning well.

What you will do

Your duties will be varied and may include cleaning plant and equipment, maintaining site cleanliness, and assisting with general site upkeep. The role also covers vegetation control, water blasting, maintenance of doors, gates, fences, and signs, as well as basic plumbing, drainage, and painting tasks. You will need to work safely in a range of demanding environments, including confined spaces and at height.

Working arrangements

This is a site-based role with normal working hours. With sufficient notice, there may be occasions when you are asked to work outside standard hours.

What you should bring

Meridian is looking for someone who places safety first, has experience in industrial or commercial cleaning, and pays close attention to detail. You should be comfortable using a range of cleaning tools and outdoor equipment, enjoy hands-on physical work, and be confident working in restricted spaces and at height. The role also calls for a willingness to learn, the ability to work well alone or as part of a team, good communication skills, basic computer and IT ability, and a full clean New Zealand driver’s licence.
