Queensland Government is hiring a Manager Aviation Programs to help strengthen aviation connectivity across Queensland. The position sits within the Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI) and plays a central part in delivering the Connecting Queensland Fund, which is a strategic action under the Destination 2045 Plan.

What this role is responsible for

The role focuses on the practical and strategic delivery of aviation-related grant programs and projects that support both tourism and economic growth. It involves working closely with government, industry, and other stakeholders to help secure new domestic and international aviation services for Queensland.

• Oversee a portfolio of grant recipients and ensure funded activities are progressing as planned.
• Negotiate and manage funding agreements in line with program objectives and government requirements.
• Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, external agencies, and aviation industry stakeholders.
• Deliver aviation projects that support the success of the Connecting Queensland Fund.
• Prepare strategic advice, papers, reports, and submissions for senior leaders, ministers, and other stakeholders.
• Represent DETSI in interagency discussions, industry meetings, and relevant forums.
• Monitor budgets, assess risks, and support high-quality program delivery.
