Mechanical Inspector

Position overview

HanmiGlobal Saudi Arabia is looking for a Mechanical Inspector to support its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team on a large residential development in Riyadh. The role focuses on checking mechanical construction work during both construction and commissioning to confirm it matches approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and the relevant engineering codes.

What you will do

• Examine mechanical installations such as HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, LPG systems where relevant, chilled water networks, and related building services.
• Assess contractor inspection requests and carry out site inspections based on approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Confirm that installed materials match approved submittals and project specifications.
• Observe pressure tests, flushing, balancing, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
• Detect non-compliant work and document inspection comments and findings.
• Check that corrective measures are finished before final acceptance of the work.
• Liaise with Resident Engineers, contractors, and other project disciplines to coordinate inspections.
• Evaluate inspection records, test results, and quality-related documents.
• Keep detailed inspection registers and daily reporting up to date.
• Take part in quality audits and handover-related inspections.
• Make sure all work complies with quality, HSE, environmental, and project governance requirements.

What we are looking for

• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Valid registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers, if applicable.
• At least 5 years of experience working as a Mechanical Inspector.
• Background on residential, commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use projects.
• Experience with PMC firms, engineering consultants, or international contractors is preferred.
• Solid understanding of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and general mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, and similar international standards.
• Ability to review shop drawings and inspection-related documentation.
• Hands-on exposure to testing and commissioning processes.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools.
• Saudi Council of Engineers registration is an advantage.
• Mechanical inspection or QA/QC certifications are also beneficial.
