Role Overview
The Millwright will join the Maintenance team in Abbotsford and handle routine and preventive upkeep, along with fault-finding and repairs for manufacturing machinery, building systems, and related equipment. This is a full-time relief role working Wednesday through Saturday.
Schedule and Pay
Workdays are Wednesday to Saturday. The wage for this position is $50.10 per hour.
Key Duties
- Support efficient processing and packaging of fluid products.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Diagnose breakdowns and repair equipment to help maintain production output.
- Provide training to plant employees when needed.
- Collaborate with other trades to complete project work.
- Work with external vendors as required.
- Assist with mechanical and electrical installation activities.
- Maintain and, where qualified, program plant PLC systems.
- Keep HACCP, sanitation, and preventive maintenance records up to date.
- Carry out other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certified journeyman status is required.
- Strong mechanical ability and solid hands-on plant or equipment maintenance experience.
- Experience in food manufacturing or high-speed packaging is preferred.
- PLC training and prior PLC experience would be beneficial.
- Strong diagnostic and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with limited supervision.
- Self-driven with a strong sense of initiative and motivation.
- Reliable performance history and a good safety record in a current role.
- Comfort working in confined spaces.
- Capability to perform some heavy lifting.
