Role overview
This position focuses on coordinating daily transport and operations activities for the West area. You will work with customer service, warehouse, drivers, subcontractors, HR, and other controllers to make sure jobs are scheduled smoothly, completed on time, and handled according to required standards.
Key duties
- Partner with the customer service team to organize job assignments.
- Structure and prioritize daily operational tasks effectively.
- Manage daily deployment of operational staff and heavy-vehicle fleet resources.
- Prepare and submit name lists and other required documents for pre-job clearance.
- Liaise with trailer and crane subcontractors whenever support is needed.
- Make sure all job requirements are arranged correctly and communicated to the relevant parties.
- Track job progress each day and ensure completion within deadlines and service expectations.
- Use the GPS tracking system to monitor driver movements.
- Ensure delivery orders and safety-related job documents are completed accurately and on time.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing cargo activities with the warehouse team.
- Arrange drivers for material or equipment collection and purchasing tasks.
- Work together with other controllers to improve coordination of job planning.
- Organize manpower support for rectifying safety findings.
- Collaborate with HR on training schedules and overtime matters for operations staff.
- Carry out other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Open only to Singaporean applicants.
- A minimum diploma in Logistics, Transportation, or a related field is required.
- About 3 years of relevant experience in logistics operations and fleet control is preferred, though not mandatory.
- Strong familiarity with Singapore roads is needed for assigning driver jobs.
- Comfortable using English and Mandarin, since the role involves communication with Mandarin-speaking colleagues and clients.
- Able to work independently with minimal guidance and contribute effectively as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and accountable.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Competent in PC use, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Willing to extend beyond standard hours when required to complete daily schedules.
- Able to commit to a 5.5-day work week.
