Role overview
This position supports warehouse-style freight handling at FedEx Canada in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and Labrador. The job focuses on moving, scanning, and sorting cargo inside the facility while following company procedures and safety expectations.
Key duties
- Load and unload freight moving through the site.
- Scan incoming and outgoing cargo accurately.
- Sort freight within the facility to support smooth processing.
- Carry out any additional tasks assigned as part of the role.
Qualifications and working expectations
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Familiarity with FedEx Canada operations and Canadian customs rules is an asset.
- Strong people skills and the ability to work well with others are important.
- You must be able to complete all required initial and recurring training.
- The role requires the ability to lift up to 70 lb and handle parcels weighing as much as 150 lb with the appropriate equipment.
- You should be able to operate in a Windows/PC environment.
- The position may involve variable shifts depending on business needs.
- If you live in Quebec, bilingual ability in French and English is required.
Additional driving-related conditions
For roles where driving is a core responsibility, applicants must hold a valid driver’s licence such as class 5, G, or 1/AZ, and have no more than two traffic violations and/or accidents in the 24 months before applying. Candidate review may also include the current driving record, interview performance, and results of any driving skills assessment.
