About the role
SAFEbuilt is looking for an experienced Permit Processor to join its Cutler Bay, Florida team. What you will do
- Handle permit application review support with attention to detail and consistency.
- Work with building plans, site plans, development plans, and zoning maps to help evaluate submissions.
- Coordinate effectively with government agencies and members of the public.
- Review, analyze, and help improve complex permit-processing workflows.
- Communicate clearly in writing and interact professionally with customers.
- Manage difficult conversations with tact while remaining firm when needed.
- Stay composed and effective in stressful situations.
- Use a personal computer for day-to-day office work and processing tasks.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of land measurement and legal descriptions.
- Ability to interpret building, site, development, and zoning documents.
- Comfort working with public-facing processes and external government offices.
- Clear written communication skills.
- Experience reviewing and analyzing detailed administrative processes.
- Professional customer-handling skills, including tact and firmness.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Basic computer proficiency.
Education and experience
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Previous municipal or construction administrative experience is preferred.
- At least 2 years of office-based work and customer service experience is required.
