Permit Processor

SAFEbuilt is looking for an experienced Permit Processor to join its Cutler Bay, Florida team. What you will do

• Handle permit application review support with attention to detail and consistency.
• Work with building plans, site plans, development plans, and zoning maps to help evaluate submissions.
• Coordinate effectively with government agencies and members of the public.
• Review, analyze, and help improve complex permit-processing workflows.
• Communicate clearly in writing and interact professionally with customers.
• Manage difficult conversations with tact while remaining firm when needed.
• Stay composed and effective in stressful situations.
• Use a personal computer for day-to-day office work and processing tasks.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of land measurement and legal descriptions.
• Ability to interpret building, site, development, and zoning documents.
• Comfort working with public-facing processes and external government offices.
• Clear written communication skills.
• Experience reviewing and analyzing detailed administrative processes.
• Professional customer-handling skills, including tact and firmness.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Basic computer proficiency.

Education and experience

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Previous municipal or construction administrative experience is preferred.
• At least 2 years of office-based work and customer service experience is required.
