This Porter role is centered on maintaining the overall presentation of the community. The property is The Quarters Starkville, a student housing community with 156 units and 480 beds, created with Mississippi State University students in mind.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time role with a regular Monday through Friday schedule from 8:30am to 5:00pm. Depending on business needs, evening or weekend work may occasionally be required.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $13.00 to $15.00 per hour, with additional bonus potential. The final offer will depend on several factors, including education, skills, experience, and location.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consistently helpful and professional service to residents, prospects, vendors, officials, and other community visitors.
  • Collect trash and clear debris from common areas every day, keeping these spaces clean and orderly.
  • Sweep curbs, parking areas, walkways, and stairways, and remove any loose debris.
  • Clean the pool and spa according to manufacturer instructions and required code standards.
  • Maintain the pool deck, restrooms, clubhouse, fitness room, and model units on a daily basis.
  • Carry out trash-out work in vacant units when needed, including removing abandoned furniture, waste, and other leftover items.
  • Support annual unit turnover and assist with move-in and move-out operations.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of housekeeping experience is preferred.
  • Ability to perform in a busy, fast-moving environment while handling several tasks at once.
  • Strong personal integrity and a professional approach to work.
  • Self-driven attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit, bend, and lift for up to 8 hours per day, with breaks, across different work settings.
