Role Summary

The Shelter Residential Worker B is responsible for helping maintain a secure, stable, and supportive environment for shelter residents and visitors.

Key Duties

  • Observe resident activity and remain available to offer practical help, emotional support, and assistance with daily needs, including secure storage and logging of prescribed medication when required.
  • Coordinate with referral partners and outside agencies such as welfare offices, police, parole services, and urgent-response contacts when needed.
  • Support client safety by taking part in bed checks, room or personal searches, and other security-related care activities.
  • Perform property and grounds inspections or safety checks according to established policies and procedures.

  • Act as a reception point when needed by answering calls, taking messages, responding to community inquiries, and directing requests appropriately.
  • Prepare or serve simple meals for residents when required.

Qualifications

Compensation
