Role overview
As a Retail Shift Manager at Lidl, you will help keep the store operating to a consistently high standard. This role is about leading people on the shop floor, keeping shifts on track, and making sure the store performs well in a busy and demanding environment. It also offers the chance to build leadership experience and progress your career.
The pay rate is £15.45 to £15.95 per hour, with a contract of 35+ hours per week. You will also receive 30 to 35 days of holiday on a pro rata basis, a 10% in-store discount, and enhanced family leave.
In addition to the standard hourly rate, bank holiday hours are paid at an extra £2.00 per hour and night shifts are paid at an extra £3.50 per hour. Lidl also provides a benefits package designed to support wellbeing and life beyond work.
Key duties
- Lead, encourage and support your team while applying the company’s leadership approach and guiding principles.
- Deal with issues quickly and assign tasks in a way that keeps the shift moving efficiently.
- Help create a working environment where colleagues can perform well and contribute effectively.
- Take charge of store operations and team coordination when the Store Manager and Deputy Store Manager are not available.
- Oversee freshness standards, cash handling, inventory control and stock management so that operations run smoothly.
- Ensure customers receive a consistently strong experience on every visit.
