About the Role
The company is hiring a Backend Software Engineer for the Customer Order Platform team. The role focuses on improving the customer order journey by designing and building scalable software that supports a smooth, reliable, and high-quality experience for users across markets.
The position is based in London and follows a hybrid working pattern, with three days per week in the office and two days working from home. This role reports to a Technology Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor progress against the team’s broader objectives and keep both the team and Technology Manager updated clearly and regularly.
- Work within the processes, standards, and design decisions agreed by the team.
- Build new product features while maintaining code quality standards and helping raise quality across the team through pairing, peer review, and knowledge sharing.
- Own your changes through to production and ensure they continue to perform reliably after release.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with .NET and C#.
- Strong grasp of HTTP and RESTful API design.
- Good knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals and best practices, including data structures, design patterns, microservices, event-driven architecture, object-oriented design, and code optimisation.
- Comfortable using Git for version control.
- Practical experience with DevOps approaches and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to work on your own while also collaborating effectively to solve challenging problems.
- Willingness to keep learning, grow professionally, and contribute to the company’s products and wider vision.
