Role Overview
We are looking for a Site Mechanical Manager to lead mechanical execution on PV solar projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on managing site-based mechanical activities, coordinating with multiple project teams, and ensuring that installation work meets approved drawings, specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.
Project Execution and Site Management
- Supervise and drive mechanical works for solar PV projects, including mounting systems, trackers where used, module installation, and related mechanical elements.
- Apply approved IFC drawings, method statements, and technical specifications correctly at the work site.
- Organize day-to-day and weekly work plans with the construction team to keep the project on schedule.
- Track subcontractor performance and labor output to ensure manpower is used efficiently.
Installation and Technical Delivery
- Oversee installation of fixed-tilt structures or single-axis trackers, including alignment, leveling, torqueing, and adherence to mechanical tolerances.
- Make sure solar modules are handled, stored, and installed properly to prevent damage.
- Work closely with civil and electrical teams to manage interfaces smoothly.
- Contribute to site layout activities, string orientation, and mechanical support during tracker commissioning.
Quality Control
- Verify that all mechanical activities follow the approved quality plan, ITPs, and project requirements.
- Carry out inspections, submit inspection requests, and close mechanical NCRs in a timely manner.
- Keep installation records, as-built documents, and handover files updated and complete.
Health, Safety and Environment
- Ensure site teams follow HSE rules, toolbox talk requirements, and safe working practices.
- Spot mechanical installation hazards and apply corrective or preventive measures.
- Encourage a strong safety mindset across subcontractors and site personnel.
Coordination and Reporting
- Coordinate with the Project Manager, QA/QC, Planning, and Stores teams to support smooth site execution.
- Participate in site discussions and submit daily and weekly progress updates.
- Escalate risks, material shortages, and execution constraints early.
Commissioning and Handover Support
- Assist in closing mechanical punch list items before commissioning.
- Support module installation completion, tracker calibration, and final handover activities.
- Make sure mechanical deliverables are completed in line with the commissioning schedule.
