Role overview
The Store Manager is responsible for running the store’s day-to-day activities, creating a smooth shopping journey, upholding presentation and operational standards, delivering financial results, and sharing customer and product insights with the relevant teams. The role calls for strong leadership, planning ability, and a solid grasp of the fashion retail environment.
Financial performance
- Lead the team to meet store sales targets and key performance indicators.
- Keep store shrinkage below 0.2% of the cost of sales.
- Track expenses, budgets, and financial goals to support store performance.
Processes and store operations
- Carry out routine financial checks and stock audits.
- Refresh, monitor, and communicate the store dashboard on a regular basis.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards across the store.
- Manage employee records, including leave tracking, passport details, performance history, conduct history, and roster planning.
- Oversee opening and closing routines and general store operations.
- Review sales performance, monitor KPIs, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Hold regular team meetings to share goals, expectations, and feedback.
- Apply company policies and procedures consistently to ensure compliance.
- Keep senior management informed about results, issues, and opportunities.
- Build and execute action plans based on performance data.
- Maintain back-store operations and ensure merchandise replenishment is handled properly.
- Enforce security controls to reduce theft and protect customers and employees.
- Hire, train, and develop a strong and productive sales team.
Customer focus
- Support the team in meeting Club Apparel, NPS, and DSES targets.
- Maintain a good working relationship with mall management.
- Coordinate store-related matters with the office back-end team.
- Respond to customer questions and issues quickly and effectively.
- Manage employee performance and conduct in a fair and structured manner.
Learning and team development
- Continuously improve personal and team capabilities while preparing future store managers.
- Identify skill gaps within the team and create processes to address them.
- Conduct onboarding and ongoing product knowledge training for staff.
Experience and education
The preferred profile includes more than 5 years of progressive experience in a customer-facing retail environment, along with strong management, leadership, and problem-solving capabilities. Success in improving customer engagement and consistently exceeding store sales KPI targets is important. A bachelor’s degree in business administration, retail management, or a similar field is preferred.
