Job Summary
The position is responsible for delivering exercise services suited to different age groups, including fitness evaluations, member orientation, and both individual and group exercise instruction. The role also supports personal training, group training, and activities related to program development and promotion.
Responsibilities
- Conduct age-appropriate exercise readiness evaluations, record key findings, goals, and exercise plans, and update programs as participant needs change.
- Explain fitness center amenities and services to participants.
- Teach participants using suitable methods, share guidance that helps reduce injury risk, check for understanding, and adapt instruction when needed.
- Lead and oversee personal and group exercise activities.
- Handle administrative work such as follow-up calls and calendar updates.
- Take part in hospital-related activities that support professional growth, team capability, and orientation efforts.
- Provide supervision and education to individuals seeking personal or group training.
- Maintain strong guest relations with participants, visitors, physicians, coworkers, students, and volunteers while presenting a positive professional image.
- Continue professional development by attending continuing education opportunities.
- Follow hospital policies and procedures, including infection control, safety, and administrative requirements.
- Maintain professional and ethical conduct at all times.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience is required.
- Must hold one of the accepted CPR-related credentials: Basic Life Support (BLS), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Heartsaver AED (HSAED), or CPR/AED through the American Red Cross.
