About the Role
Numu Nursery is an early childhood center built around a modern approach to learning, blending innovation with tradition to create a nurturing environment for young children. As a Teaching Assistant, you will support lead teachers in everyday nursery operations and help create a safe, caring, and engaging learning space. The role involves assisting children with their routine needs, contributing to classroom organization, supporting learning activities, and helping maintain a positive educational atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Keep the classroom tidy, well-arranged, and safe, while following hygiene standards.
- Support children during meals, rest time, toilet routines, and other daily activities according to their individual needs.
- Interact with children in a warm, constructive way and set a positive example through actions and communication.
- Offer extra help to students with varied learning needs, including children of determination and gifted learners.
- Assist the lead teacher with records, portfolios, and communication with parents.
- Help coordinate classroom events, trips, assemblies, concerts, and similar activities.
- Provide administrative support, including managing resources and assisting with ICT-related tasks.
- Step in for an absent teacher when required to maintain continuity in the classroom.
- Closely observe children to protect their safety and well-being, and report any concerns related to abuse or neglect.
- Take part in nursery activities, committees, events, and marketing efforts.
- Respect confidentiality and remain mindful of local culture, customs, and legal requirements.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience working with children in a school or nursery setting, supported by a reference letter.
