Position summary
The Tender Manager will own the full tendering journey, from spotting opportunities and deciding whether to pursue them through to submission and post-submission follow-up. Based in the Business Development function, this role supports company growth by improving bid success, keeping submissions aligned with internal governance, and ensuring proposals are competitive, compliant, and high quality.
Key responsibilities
- Take charge of the complete tender process, including opportunity review, qualification, submission, and follow-up after submission.
- Assess RFPs, RFQs, tenders, and similar opportunities using the approved Go/No-Go framework.
- Evaluate opportunities for strategic fit, technical feasibility, commercial value, available resources, and compliance requirements.
- Rank and focus on bids that best support the organization’s strategy, capabilities, and financial goals.
- Drive the creation, review, and final consolidation of technical, commercial, administrative, and qualification documents.
- Work in close partnership with Sales, Pre-Sales, Delivery, Finance, Procurement, Governance, and Executive Management to move bids forward on time.
- Build and maintain tender timelines, covering clarification questions, site visits, meetings, and final submission dates.
- Examine pricing, commercial positioning, profitability expectations, and the approval flow before any submission.
- Make sure all internal approvals and governance checks are completed before the bid is sent.
- Manage customer registrations, vendor onboarding, and prequalification work across target clients and procurement platforms.
- Track tender results and carry out detailed win/loss reviews to capture lessons learned and improvement actions.
- Follow company policies, governance rules, approval matrices, and tender management processes at all times.
- Prepare regular reports, tender performance summaries, and management-level updates.
Qualifications and experience
The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field, along with at least 7 years of relevant experience in tender management, bid management, proposal management, or a similar capacity. Prior exposure to ICT, ELV, Cybersecurity, System Integration, or comparable technology environments is strongly preferred. Experience with government, semi-government, and enterprise procurement processes will be viewed as an added advantage.
Essential skills and capabilities
The ideal candidate should bring a strong grasp of tender governance, compliance expectations, commercial evaluation, and bid management practices. They should also be able to coordinate multiple stakeholders, manage cross-functional workstreams, and operate with strong analytical, communication, organizational, and project management skills.
