Role Overview

Portico is hiring a Corporate Welcome Host for a newly opened multi-tenant building in Birmingham. This position is responsible for owning the front-of-house area and delivering a polished, friendly, and consistent experience for visitors, guests, tenants, and clients.

The Welcome Host plays a key role in shaping a memorable arrival experience and supporting a customer journey that feels thoughtful and engaging from the moment people step inside the building. The aim is to create a top-tier welcome service, improve occupier satisfaction, and help position the site as one of Birmingham’s leading modern workplace destinations.

The role combines desk-based front-of-house duties with roaming support in the lobby to maintain a warm, professional atmosphere. At times, the successful candidate will also cover the Lobby Host function, which requires active movement around the lobby area. Applicants must be comfortable standing for extended periods.

Working Pattern and Pay

This is a 40-hour-per-week role, scheduled Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. The annual salary is £28,000.

The ideal candidate will have a sharp eye for detail, a natural tendency to take initiative, and the ability to act without needing constant direction. They should enjoy working with people, adapt easily to changing client needs, and manage several tasks at once. Strong relationship-building skills are important, as this person will become a key point of contact in the building and will be expected to develop trusted connections with tenants.
