Job Purpose
This role is responsible for steering the daily flow of maintenance work inside the workshop. The person in this position will make sure tasks move forward according to the approved schedule, meet regulatory and quality expectations, and remain fully documented. Close coordination with technicians is essential to keep component or engine maintenance progressing smoothly from one stage to the next.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day execution of workshop maintenance activities and keep them aligned with the plan issued by the Workshop Planning Engineer.
- Track task progress continuously and help technicians resolve minor technical or process-related obstacles.
- Verify that all job cards are completed correctly, signed off, and closed within the required timeframe.
- Arrange the movement of components across different stages of work such as teardown, cleaning, inspection, repair, assembly, testing, and any outsourced activities.
- Ensure maintenance is performed strictly in line with approved technical documentation, including CMMs, SBs, and EO/EOs.
- Work with Logistics and Stores to confirm the availability and release of required parts, tools, and consumables.
- Keep AMOS updated with work-in-progress status and assist with preparing component release records.
- Escalate issues that may delay progress, such as material shortages or tooling-related hold-ups, to the Workshop Supervisor or Planning Engineer.
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining complete traceability and accurate maintenance records.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Aircraft Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent field is preferred; alternatively, a higher diploma or certificate from a recognized university or engineering college may be accepted.
- Solid awareness of turnaround time drivers and common workflow bottlenecks.
- Working familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as EASA Part-145, GCAA CAR 145, and FAA 145.
- Strong understanding of workshop-level maintenance practices and related technical documents like CMMs, SBs, and EOs.
- Hands-on experience with maintenance systems such as AMOS, TRAX, or comparable platforms; AMOS is preferred.
- Ability to take initiative in resolving issues on the shop floor and escalating concerns when necessary.
- At least 3 years of experience in component workshop or aircraft maintenance production control, planning, or records work within an airline or MRO setting.
