Role overview

This full-time, onsite Apparel Designer position is based in the New York City Metropolitan Area and involves hands-on support across the design and product development process, from early concepts through production follow-through.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop seasonal ideas through sketches and concept presentations.
  • Create color CADs for styles that are selected for the line.
  • Prepare seasonal fabric lists and fabric cards for retail partners.
  • Track sample yardage requests through factories and ensure follow-up until completion.
  • Coordinate garment sample requests and monitor factory progress on sample status.
  • Request lab dips and hand looms as needed.
  • Partner with the CAD team on artwork and share artwork copies with store partners.
  • Receive samples in New York and forward them to store partners for line review.
  • Revise CAD decks after line review meetings when updates are required.
  • Build detailed maps for selected styles that include fabric and design specifications.
  • Translate tech packs from sample stage into fit tech packs for production.
  • Input specifications and BOMs into partner systems.
  • Support trim selection and manage trim approvals throughout production.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in design work.
  • Strong sketching, CAD, and concept presentation capabilities.
  • Working knowledge of woven and knit fabrics, including styling applications.
