Role overview
This permanent apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer role is based in Prince Rupert, British Columbia, and supports maintenance work on AW169 rotary-wing aircraft within Babcock’s Approved Maintenance Organization. What you will be doing
- Complete scheduled maintenance assignments individually and with a team, working under the direction of a licensed AME.
- Carry out maintenance, adjustment, modification, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on AW169 aircraft mechanical systems under supervision.
- Track work using CAMP task cards and work cards, and maintain accurate labour entries in the labour system.
- Use aviation tools, power tools, computers, and diagnostic equipment as required.
- Follow appropriate PPE requirements and keep the work area orderly and efficient.
- Handle interior and exterior aircraft cleaning tasks, excluding medical biohazards.
- Follow the Safety & Health Policy Statement, occupational health and safety manual, company procedures, and the MPM.
- Report hazards, incidents, and accidents through the company reporting process.
- Work in line with Transport Canada requirements and perform other assigned duties.
Candidate profile
- You should be willing to relocate to the assigned base location.
- Enrollment in an accredited AME apprenticeship program, or graduation from a Transport Canada-accredited AME diploma program, is required.
- Experience on rotary-wing aircraft is preferred, especially Leonardo Helicopters AW-family aircraft such as the AW169.
- Prior use of CAMP, Winair, or similar maintenance tracking systems is an advantage.
- Strong organization skills and solid written and spoken English are expected.
- You must be able to sit or crouch for long periods, stand or walk for extended periods, work in confined areas, and tolerate working at heights.
- Shift work, travel for up to 2 weeks at a time, and a hands-on environment are part of the role.
- You must be eligible for an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
- You need the right to work in Canada and/or a Canadian passport that you already hold or can obtain.
- A valid driver’s licence is required.
