About the role
EY is hiring a Senior Business Analyst for its GDS Assurance Digital team in Hyderabad. The team focuses on creating, deploying, and connecting technology solutions that improve support for audit clients and engagement teams. This role sits within EY’s Assurance practice and calls for strong audit-oriented technical knowledge along with solid database, data analysis, and programming capabilities.
The work centers on helping audit teams deal with growing regulatory demands and large, complex data sets pulled from multiple systems and departments. The team collaborates closely with partners, clients, and audit subject matter experts to design technology-led improvements that increase efficiency and deliver better outcomes. The broader function also provides solution architecture, application development, testing, and maintenance support to the global Assurance line.
EY is looking for a motivated, self-directed, and enthusiastic technology professional to contribute to Microsoft technology or single-page application projects for global customers. Training on the job is included.
Responsibilities
- Define the scope and objectives of systems by combining research, fact-finding, and an understanding of business systems and industry needs.
- Work on technology solutions across similar use cases and geographies with a platform-oriented mindset.
- Gather business and user needs, convert them into formal system requirements, and document them clearly.
- Analyse business processes, metrics, and market or industry trends to uncover improvement opportunities.
- Estimate costs, benefits, and ROI for alternative solutions and support process re-engineering efforts.
- Understand how applications and systems connect to support business processes.
- Assess the impact of system changes on users, clients, and stakeholders, and recommend appropriate actions.
- Support the modification or development of complex information systems based on business and industry requirements.
- Write test plans and test cases, and run tests such as system, integration, readiness, and acceptance testing.
- Validate application changes using client data and confirm that updates do not affect other parts of the system.
- Review testing outcomes and ensure programmer changes meet requirements.
- Influence business partners and service providers on priorities, technology choices, and vendor selection where required.
- Train internal teams or external clients on new systems, changes, or procedures as needed.
- Manage multiple project streams within an Agile environment and handle scrum artifacts and ceremonies.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- 4 to 7 years of experience in Business Analysis within IT.
- Preferably pursuing a master’s degree in business management, such as an MBA.
- Strong analytical ability and the capacity to simplify and solve complex problems.
- Experience working on large, scalable solutions and niche technology areas such as cloud, big data, or data science.
- Hands-on experience leading projects with Agile methods.
- Ability to manage multiple project streams in an Agile setup.
- Comfortable presenting solutions and discussing technical possibilities with stakeholders.
- Banking and Capital Markets background will be an advantage.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Team-oriented approach and willingness to collaborate effectively.
