Role Overview

The Business Development Lead is responsible for understanding market trends and customer priorities across the assigned geography. The role focuses on expanding the opportunity pipeline, improving win rates, increasing bookings and volume, and driving revenue growth.

This position owns the growth and go-to-market approach for the assigned portfolio. It includes market analysis, defining services and products, setting pricing, and shaping new commercial and business models to support business development and project rollout approved by the Integration BDM.

The lead also manages portfolio opportunities from first customer contact through tender or proposal submission, negotiation, contract signing, and handover to the PSD organization. In addition, the role helps define and enforce business models and service-level agreements with other business lines when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the marketing and commercial teams within the assigned business areas.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, including new markets, partnerships, and ways to reach existing customers for Schlumberger services and products.
  • Champion the value proposition of the portfolio and integration offerings both internally and externally.
  • Own the opportunity management process for opportunities within the relevant GeoUnit(s).
  • Build proposal strategies, content, and commercial options for base and alternative cases.
  • Coordinate technical, operational, commercial, and legal risk reviews and mitigation for proposals.
  • Lead proposal and tender review meetings to secure alignment and approvals before submission.
  • Join customer negotiations for proposals and contracts when needed.
  • Ensure proper handover of signed contracts to GeoUnit stakeholders.
  • Carry out post-award reviews and gather market intelligence.
  • Take part in Contract Performance Assessments (CPA).
  • Maintain strong customer relationships within the GeoUnit.
  • Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events to stay current on market and industry developments.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity pipeline data, revenue forecasts, and activity forecasts.
