Team Overview
The Engineering Tool Development (ETD) team creates analytics and automation solutions designed to address difficult manufacturing problems in the semiconductor space. Its work supports Micron’s broader mission of advancing memory and semiconductor technology and converting information into intelligence.
Role Summary
Micron is looking for a driven Business Analyst to join the ETD team. The role is centered on semiconductor packaging, data-led problem solving, and turning business needs into practical requirements. You will also assist with image analysis solution development and work closely with engineers and other global partners.
What You Will Do
- Work with image processing engineers, packaging subject matter experts, and operations teams to understand business challenges and convert them into well-defined problem statements and requirements.
- Support the review, scoping, intake, and ranking of incoming project requests.
- Partner with technical teams to identify data needs, assess feasibility, and frame image-processing use cases.
- Record assumptions, limitations, and the business impact expected from each solution.
- Monitor milestones, dependencies, and deliverables across cross-functional project teams.
- Help plan the handoff of solutions from prototype stage into production use.
- Create concise documentation such as requirement summaries, feasibility notes, user guides, and progress updates.
- Share insights and recommendations with both technical specialists and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support follow-up on incidents affecting manufacturing by documenting issues, decisions, problem statements, and system impacts when needed.
Required Profile
- A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Analytics, Engineering Management, or a similar discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in the semiconductor sector, along with understanding of package development.
- Hands-on exposure to Python, SQL, or comparable data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with image analytics, machine learning, optics, or semiconductor manufacturing concepts.
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to simplify complex datasets or workflows.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Comfort working across functions with diverse global teams.
- Strong organizational ability and the capacity to manage several priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Exposure to project coordination, requirements gathering, or technical documentation.
- Experience with cloud platforms, version control systems, or workflow automation tools.
