Role overview
The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst will contribute to research support and institutional planning by creating, improving, and maintaining BI dashboards and reporting solutions. The position focuses on turning data into practical insights that help guide research management and strategic decisions.
What you will do
- Gather data from different sources, prepare it for analysis, and transform it into usable formats.
- Develop and maintain data models that support reporting and institutional analysis.
- Analyze datasets to produce insights that can be used for planning, management, and research decision-making.
- Work with researchers and administrative staff to understand reporting needs and translate them into BI outputs.
- Check data for accuracy and consistency before reporting.
- Keep clear documentation for BI workflows, reports, and related processes.
Skills and qualifications
- Strong ability to analyze data and explain findings clearly.
- Hands-on knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling.
- Experience with ETL workflows for collecting, cleaning, and integrating information from multiple sources.
- Familiarity with BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools, along with SQL for querying and reporting.
- Capability to manage work independently in a remote setup, handle several priorities, and deliver on deadlines.
- Good written and spoken communication skills in English; Spanish is an added advantage.
- Background in academic, research, or public-sector settings is helpful, though not mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher studies in data science, statistics, computer science, engineering, economics, or a related discipline.
Working arrangement
This is a part-time remote position. It requires strong self-organization, regular communication, and timely completion of analysis and reporting tasks.
