This role offers the chance to build a new KS2 and KS3 curriculum from the ground up, with a focus on practical, evidence-informed resources that teachers can use confidently and pupils can engage with effectively. Alongside curriculum design, the postholder will contribute to school relationships, teacher training, implementation support and wider company growth.
As a small organisation with a social purpose, Vocabulous is looking for someone who is not only excited by the role itself, but also interested in the broader workings of an education start-up and willing to contribute beyond the immediate job remit.

What the role involves
The Curriculum Lead will take ownership of planning and developing a new vocabulary curriculum for KS2 and KS3, making sure the content is grounded in research, useful for teachers and engaging for pupils.
In addition to curriculum creation, the role includes supporting the delivery of training, helping schools implement the programme well, and contributing to the expansion of Vocabulous’s network of partner schools.
Additional information
Applicants should be comfortable working closely with product and design colleagues to create effective digital learning experiences. The role also involves piloting content, incorporating teacher feedback, and representing the programme to schools and other educational partners.
All post holders must be willing to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check to a satisfactory standard.
Who should apply
This opportunity may suit a literacy lead, English lead, senior teacher, curriculum specialist, consultant, experienced classroom teacher with a strong interest in vocabulary and literacy, or someone working in educational publishing or curriculum design.
Vocabulous welcomes applications from teachers, school leaders and curriculum specialists who want to make a meaningful difference to vocabulary education for pupils and teachers.
Application instructions
Applicants should send a CV of no more than two sides of A4 and a covering letter of no more than one side of A4. The covering letter should explain relevant experience and why the applicant is keen to join Vocabulous.
Ideal profile
The successful candidate will have strong curriculum knowledge, excellent written communication skills and confidence in building relationships with educators. A collaborative, entrepreneurial approach and a strong commitment to improving literacy outcomes are also important.
