Key Duties
- Handle cleanup and disinfection for spills, accidents, and other contaminated materials.
- Collect biohazard waste and sharps and move them to the approved secure storage location.
- Disinfect patient units during infectious disease outbreaks.
- Perform routine floor and surface care, including sweeping, dusting, mopping, and buffing.

Compensation
The posted pay range is $3,515.00 to $3,798.00 per month. Custodian roles at Oregon State Hospital also receive a 10% pay differential above the base rate. The listed salary is the non-PERS qualifying range; if the selected candidate qualifies for PERS, the rate includes an additional 6.95%.
Qualifications
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have at least 6 months of custodial experience that included use of equipment needed for custodial work, and be able to handle physically demanding tasks such as pushing and pulling heavy equipment, lifting up to 50 pounds, crouching, stooping, bending, and standing or walking for up to 90% of the work shift.
Preferred Background
Priority attributes include strong custodial organization, comfort using technology and training to improve performance, respect for individual and cultural differences, experience with commercial cleaning equipment, knowledge of cleaning chemical dilution ratios, and the ability to manage time, prioritize assignments, and finish tasks in order of importance.
