Role overview

Keyrock is hiring an Engineering Lead / Head of Engineering with deep expertise in systematic options trading to lead its Options Engineering team.

This person will guide the engineering function for the options platform, improve the underlying trading infrastructure, and help advance a systematic options trading stack. The scope includes automated quoting, execution, risk controls, pricing workflows, and the reliability of production systems.

The company is mainly considering candidates located in European time zones or the US East Coast time zone.

What you will do

Lead and scale an Options Engineering team of roughly 7 engineers.
Apply practical expertise in systematic options trading, including market making, automated quoting, execution, and risk management.
Take ownership of an existing Rust-based systematic options trading platform and continue its development.
Set technical direction across trading infrastructure, architecture, performance, reliability, and risk safeguards.
Tackle complex engineering and trading-system problems with a pragmatic mindset.
Work in close partnership with trading, quant, product, risk, and infrastructure teams.
Combine technical leadership, people management, delivery accountability, and operational discipline.

Experience and technical background

At least 7 years of experience in systematic trading, options market making, or low-latency trading systems.
Strong hands-on programming experience with Rust, C++, or C.
Readiness to build deep Rust expertise if it is not already a strength.
Solid understanding of algorithmic options trading, including quoting, execution, pricing, risk controls, and market data flows.
Experience developing or supporting low-latency trading systems, ideally in options or derivatives markets.
Production experience with SQL databases, with PostgreSQL preferred.
Exposure to functional testing, component testing, and production-grade validation methods.
Strong grasp of distributed systems, service boundaries, and production reliability.
Knowledge of gRPC and experience with Node.js-based services is preferred.
Prior experience with crypto exchange connectivity and/or FPGA technologies is strongly preferred.
