Role overview
The Creative Strategy team is hiring a freelance video editor to support an expanding short-form content program on a continuing retainer basis. The work centers on high-volume social videos for Meta, with a strong emphasis on fast-paced, performance-driven creative.
This is a good fit for an editor who knows how to build content that feels native to social platforms and that keeps viewers engaged through strong hooks, tight pacing, and clear storytelling. The team values a collaborative and iterative process, where creative is tested, adjusted, and improved regularly. Consistency, fast communication, and sound creative judgment matter more than highly polished brand-style edits.
The initial expectation is up to 4 days per week, though the schedule may change depending on workflow and how well the arrangement fits once processes are established. You will work directly with the Head of Creative Strategy and a group of Creative Strategists.
Contract and schedule
This position is structured as an ongoing freelance/retainer engagement. The preferred location is the UK or the US. Working hours are aligned to either 9am–5pm UK time or 8am–4pm local US time.
The role is expected to start as soon as possible, ideally before the end of June.
Production expectations
The current output cadence is around 4 batches of content each week, with each batch containing about 5 short-form edits. Most edits run for roughly 30 seconds. These expectations may be lighter at first while the team sets up its workflow and creative process. The focus is on reliability, collaboration, and quick iteration rather than strict edit quotas.
Required experience and tools
Applicants should have at least 5 years of professional video editing experience and a strong background creating content for Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, and other short-form social channels. You should also understand how to build effective hooks, improve retention, edit in a platform-native style, use captions and subtitles effectively, create UGC-style edits, tell stories for social-first audiences, and work within creative testing workflows.
Experience with performance marketing or direct-response creative is considered an advantage. Adobe Premiere Pro is required. It is also helpful to have experience with AI-assisted creative workflows, familiarity with tools such as ElevenLabs and Veo 3, prior experience generating AI video assets, and comfort experimenting with newer AI creative tools. Access to relevant AI video generation tools will be provided where needed.
Engagement details
This is a freelance contractor role on an ongoing retainer. The setup is flexible, and there may be an opportunity to move into a permanent in-house role in the future.
How to apply
Interested candidates should share a portfolio or samples of relevant short-form work, examples of creative they have edited for Meta or TikTok, a brief overview of their social-first editing experience, their availability in days per week, and their preferred rate structure.
