Role overview
An engineering consultancy focused on renewable energy, waste-to-energy, and sustainable infrastructure is hiring an HR Administrator to support core HR and recruitment administration. The role covers the employee lifecycle and helps keep daily HR operations running smoothly.
This is an on-site position based in Scotland, United Kingdom, with a 5-day working week. The salary is GBP 26,450 plus benefits.
Key responsibilities
- Handle recruitment administration from advertising vacancies through to onboarding new hires.
- Advertise openings on suitable job boards and other relevant channels.
- Arrange interviews and communicate with hiring managers and candidates.
- Review CVs against job criteria and prepare candidate shortlists.
- Keep recruitment files up to date and maintain the applicant tracking system.
- Draft offer letters, contracts, and other HR-related documents.
- Maintain employee files accurately in line with GDPR and internal procedures.
- Support HR activities across the full employee lifecycle.
- Monitor the HR inbox and handle staff queries, escalating issues when needed.
- Log absence details accurately and share updates with the appropriate stakeholders.
- Process starters and leavers in the HR system.
- Support monthly payroll administration by ensuring employee data is accurate and submitted on time.
Candidate profile
- Previous experience in roles such as HR Administrator, Recruitment Administrator, HR Assistant, Human Resources Administrator, Human Resources Assistant, HR Admin, HR and Recruitment Administrator, Recruitment Assistant, People Assistant, or a similar position.
- Background in HR or recruitment administration with strong general administration capability.
- Good understanding of recruitment workflows and candidate handling.
- Confident with Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with HR systems is helpful, although full training will be provided.
- Strong organisation and time management abilities.
- Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- Customer-focused when dealing with internal teams and candidates.
- Committed to high HR standards and following company processes.
