The company helps simplify how patients access advanced therapies through a wide service network that includes a nationwide specialty pharmacy, a patient services hub, home infusion and nursing support, and third-party logistics. Its work with biopharma companies, care providers, and payers is centered on helping ensure that no patient is left behind.

Role overview

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for carrying out employee relations work, workplace risk handling, employment law compliance, policy administration, and HR-led people programs. The role is expected to apply people processes consistently and fairly, support managers directly, and help reinforce company culture through engagement initiatives in partnership with the Senior HR Business Partner. This position works within the People Operations strategy and collaborates closely with the Senior HR Business Partner, Training, Payroll, and HR Administration.

Compensation and location

The pay range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 per year, depending on experience. The role is remote, though candidates located near the Elk Grove Village office are preferred to follow a hybrid arrangement with periodic in-office collaboration. Travel requirements are minimal, under 5%.

Key responsibilities

  • Independently handle employee relations matters involving performance, conduct, attendance, and workplace concerns, with an emphasis on timely, fair, and well-supported outcomes.
  • Lead impartial investigations by interviewing involved parties, reviewing records, and gathering facts in line with company expectations.
  • Prepare corrective actions, performance improvement plans, and termination paperwork with a strong focus on consistency and risk reduction.
  • Evaluate the risk level of employee relations situations and escalate cases that are high-risk or legally sensitive.
  • Apply policies and practices consistently across teams and locations.
  • Spot recurring issues, risk trends, and manager capability gaps, then share insights with People leadership.
  • Interpret and apply federal, state, and local employment laws in a multi-state environment.
  • Maintain compliant documentation standards, including personnel files, employee relations records, and corrective action documentation.
  • Support audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews through preparation and response activities.
  • Make eligibility and compliance decisions for FMLA, ADA, and other protected leave programs.
  • Review and manage reasonable accommodations and exceptions in line with legal and company requirements.
  • Handle complex or overlapping leave situations and coordinate with HR Administration and Payroll for accurate execution.
  • Coach managers on performance management, documentation quality, corrective action, and employee conversations.
  • Reinforce expectations for people leadership and ensure use of HR tools, templates, and processes.
  • Support managers through difficult employee situations with fairness, consistency, and risk awareness.
  • Facilitate and execute HR-developed programs such as manager fundamentals, performance management, and compliance training.
  • Work with the Training team to help managers apply learning in day-to-day practice.
  • Support rollout and adoption of People Operations policies, processes, and initiatives.
  • Help execute employee engagement and culture initiatives as the operational lead for Culture Committee activities.
  • Turn Culture Committee recommendations into action plans with timelines and ownership.
  • Track progress, raise barriers or capacity issues, and support engagement efforts through day-to-day people practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Performance expectations

Success in the role is measured by timely and compliant resolution of employee relations cases, consistent policy application, strong and defensible documentation, better manager adherence to HR standards, fewer repeat issues caused by inconsistent management practices, prompt identification and escalation of compliance risks, audit-ready records, and stronger manager capability with less day-to-day HR intervention for routine matters.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. The role calls for 5–7+ years of progressive HR experience with substantial employee relations responsibility, including work in a multi-state environment. PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred.
