Role overview
This opportunity is with a respected Irish insurance company known for its solid standing in the market. The team is hiring for a motor claims handler position, and they are happy to consider candidates already working in claims as well as insurance professionals from broker, insurer, customer service, or sales backgrounds who want to move into a claims-focused role. Full training will be provided.
Working arrangement and reporting line
The role is based in Dublin 12, Ireland, with a hybrid setup requiring two days per week on site. The successful candidate will report to the Claims Manager.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is €34,000 to €40,000, depending on experience.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Take ownership of motor claims from initial notification through to settlement, including information gathering, liability assessment, and handling claims within delegated authority.
- Act as the primary contact for customers, brokers, and service providers, supporting them clearly and professionally throughout the claim journey.
- Use sound judgment in decision-making, identify possible signs of fraud, and maintain precise claim documentation.
- Collaborate with colleagues, assist with workflow where needed, and help build a positive and cooperative team culture.
- Work with loss adjusters, solicitors, and other external partners as required.
- Contribute to training activities, projects, and ongoing process improvements.
Candidate profile
The employer is looking for someone with claims experience or broader insurance-sector experience, ideally gained with a broker or insurer in a customer service or sales capacity. Holding APA (Personal & Commercial) or CIP qualification is essential. Strong communication, good organisation, a problem-solving mindset, and a customer-first approach are important, along with the ability to work proactively as part of a team.
