Role overview

This position sits within Engineering & Facilities at a luxury hotel property in Doha, Qatar. It is a full-time, non-management maintenance role focused on keeping guest rooms, equipment, and building systems functioning smoothly while supporting a high standard of service.

What you'll do

• Handle guest repair requests promptly and work with guests or customers to solve maintenance concerns.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Inspect tools, machines, and equipment visually and confirm they are in proper working condition.
• Carry and use maintenance equipment such as tools and a radio.
• Find, identify, and operate shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs throughout the building.
• Track maintenance stock and request parts and supplies when needed.
• Share daily work updates and any issues with other shifts using approved communication channels and standards.
• Work with basic knowledge across HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry, finish work, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building systems.
• Complete surface preparation, painting, minor drywall repairs, wood trim touch-ups, light bulb changes, A/C filter replacement, and full cleanup after work is finished.
• Test, diagnose, and perform simple repairs on equipment, plumbing, electrical parts, lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, switches, outlets, and other guestroom items.
• Program TVs and handle general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory tasks.
• Use the Lockout/Tagout system before beginning any maintenance task.
• Repair interior and exterior landscaping elements, including sprinkler systems.
• Use basic computer functions such as entering air handler schedules and adjusting temperatures.

• Follow all company, safety, and security procedures at all times.
• Report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, and injuries immediately.
• Complete required safety training and certifications.
• Store flammable materials correctly and securely.
• Maintain a clean, professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Protect confidential information and safeguard company property.
• Greet and assist guests in line with company service standards.
• Support guests with disabilities and respond to service needs proactively.
• Work respectfully with colleagues, communicate clearly, and contribute to shared goals.
• Use proper lifting and movement techniques for objects up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with help.
• Be able to move on stairs, ramps, and ladders, and work in bent, twisted, and overhead positions as needed.
• Use computers to enter and locate job-related information.
• Complete other reasonable duties assigned by management.

Preferred background

A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Prior experience in general maintenance, including surface preparation and painting, is also preferred. Experience in hotel engineering or hotel maintenance is considered an advantage. No supervisory experience is required.

Required license

A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
