About the Role
CFGI is looking for a Managing Director to help expand and scale its Value Creation practice, with a strong focus on private equity clients, their portfolio companies, and strategic internal initiatives. This position is centered on building practical value creation programs, creating operating tools and playbooks, and working directly with senior leaders to produce measurable business results.
The role blends strategic analysis, operational delivery, financial performance oversight, and interaction with executive stakeholders. The right person will be comfortable moving between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.
What You’ll Do
- Own and drive value creation initiatives for CFGI’s private equity clients and portfolio companies.
- Create repeatable playbooks and structured frameworks for operational improvement.
- Spot, size, and rank EBITDA improvement opportunities across operations, finance, commercial, and corporate areas.
- Build governance routines, initiative monitoring, and performance management systems.
- Keep initiative owners and business leaders accountable for progress and results.
- Track value capture, measure benefits, and report on financial performance.
- Prepare executive dashboards, scorecards, and presentation materials for boards and leadership teams.
- Run executive operating reviews and steering committee sessions.
- Contribute to business development, proposal creation, and broader practice-building efforts.
- Coach junior team members and help define strong operating standards.
What We’re Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 6 years of experience in management consulting, value creation, transaction advisory, strategic finance, operational improvement, or a similar area, ideally from an MBB firm or Big 4 firm.
- Proven ability to manage projects and coordinate with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint at an advanced level.
- Solid financial judgment and analytical capability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with confident executive-level presentation abilities.
Preferred Background
- An MBA or another advanced degree.
- Experience in a top-tier consulting environment or within a private equity operating setting.
- Direct exposure to private equity funds and portfolio companies.
- Hands-on experience leading cost reduction, operational improvement, or EBITDA growth programs.
- Prior experience presenting to senior executives, boards, or private equity investors.
