Mobile Cleaner

Role overview

Progressive Care is looking for a Mobile Cleaner to support a growing, fast-moving organisation that works across property development, social care, and training. In this role, you will provide dependable, high-standard cleaning services across multiple sites, helping maintain safe, hygienic, and professional environments.

You will move between GDMA and client locations to complete planned cleaning, urgent tasks, and deep cleans as needed. The position is full time, with working hours of 40 per week.

Key duties

• Travel to different locations to complete daily cleaning, periodic tasks, and one-off deep cleans.
• Carry out turnaround and builder cleans following refurbishment work.
• Perform infection-control cleaning, disinfect high-touch surfaces, and follow COSHH-safe product use.
• Maintain kitchen and washroom standards, including descaling, sanitising, and replenishing supplies.
• Manage waste and keep external areas tidy, including simple litter-picking tasks.
• Track cleaning stock, consumables, and PPE, and arrange reorders in good time.
• Use smartphone-based systems to record sign-ins, job progress, photos, and timesheets accurately.
• Handle keys, set alarms, and complete lone-working duties in line with company procedures.
• Work professionally with site managers and service teams while upholding the organisation’s standards.

Skills and experience

The role suits someone with experience in commercial cleaning, especially in mobile or multi-site settings. You should hold a full UK driving licence and be comfortable travelling across regions.

Practical knowledge of colour-coding systems, infection control, and COSHH fundamentals is important, along with the ability to use, clean, and store equipment safely. The job also requires physical fitness for manual work, lifting, and being on your feet for long periods.

Strong organisation, dependable attendance, and the ability to plan routes and priorities independently are essential. You should also be confident using a smartphone for work records, photos, and timesheets.

Desirable background

Experience in care, healthcare, or other regulated settings would be an advantage. A basic cleaning qualification such as BICS, NVQ Level 2 Cleaning, or an equivalent certificate is also desirable.
