About the role
Johnson Matthey is seeking a Project Manager to support business and IT-enabled delivery in a globally flexible UK setting. The company has more than two centuries of heritage and works with advanced metals chemistry to help address major global challenges, including emissions reduction, modern energy needs, and life-saving technologies. The wider mission centers on refining, applying, and recycling valuable metals to support a healthier, more sustainable circular economy.
What you will do
- Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of business and technology projects, keeping scope, timelines, budget, and quality objectives on track.
- Create well-structured project plans that define milestones, dependencies, resource needs, and deliverables in line with governance requirements.
- Set up and maintain project governance processes, including stage gates, RAID tracking, and change control.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to coordinate dependencies and keep delivery moving smoothly.
- Track progress, identify risks and issues, and escalate blockers early with suitable mitigation actions.
- Prepare concise, accurate updates for sponsors and governance groups to support sound decision-making.
What you need to bring
- Hands-on experience delivering business and technology projects from start to finish in complex environments with multiple stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of structured delivery methods such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches.
- Ability to convert business needs into actionable project plans that support technical delivery.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence and communicate effectively at different levels.
- Excellent organisation, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, along with close attention to detail.
- Experience with project planning and delivery tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or Azure DevOps.
