Role overview
This role is focused on advancing a propulsion system that was originally architected under the founders’ direction. You will take ownership of an existing patent-pending motor concept, along with the fan, ducting, and variable-nozzle geometries, and help evolve it into a propulsion solution with high specific thrust and strong efficiency to support long-range performance goals.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in aeronautical or mechanical engineering, with a solid grasp of fluid mechanics and aerodynamics.
- A broad understanding of multiple engineering areas, including electronics, structures, materials, aerodynamics, and safety.
- An ability to think systemically and connect design decisions across disciplines to create better overall performance.
- Hands-on experience with FAA compliance requirements such as 14 CFR Part 25, RTCA DO-xxx, and related testing workflows.
- Strong capability in prototyping, 3D-printing-oriented design, composites, and manufacturing processes.
Preferred background
- Exposure to design-for-manufacturing methods or formal training in the area.
- Experience working within an aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Background in test engineering.
- Strong aptitude for both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Additional information
This is a key early-stage engineering position with the opportunity to grow into a managerial or technical leadership role. The position will work directly with the Chief Technology Officer.
