Role overview
PIPECARE Group has spent more than two decades supporting customers in protecting the integrity of pipeline and facility assets. The company is hiring a Purchase Officer with solid experience in procurement and supplier coordination. This position will manage vendor communication, track deliveries, handle port and border clearance, and support procurement for concentrate, raw materials, spare parts, and marketing equipment management items.
Key responsibilities
- Manage purchasing activities end to end.
- Receive materials into stores and coordinate documentation.
- Submit goods received notes to the accounts team.
- Take part in procurement-related audits.
- Participate in meetings with suppliers.
- Process petty cash purchases when needed.
- Raise transportation requests through logistics for delivery and material movement out of the facility.
- Issue RFQs and gather quotations from vendors.
- Create purchase requisitions and item codes.
- Prepare purchase orders and follow up on approvals with accounts.
- Flag issues in LPOs to the approving person, including pricing gaps or payment-term concerns.
- Track supplier deliveries and ensure follow-up until receipt.
- Request advance payments from accounts when required.
- Prepare price comparison sheets for approval reference.
- Follow up on vendor payments with the accounts team.
- Identify and source new suppliers for procurement needs.
- Register suppliers and obtain QC approval where applicable.
- Request new supplier creation from accounts.
- Maintain and update the approved supplier list.
- File purchase orders together with quotations for audit readiness.
- Negotiate delivery timelines, discounts, payment terms, and similar commercial points.
- Reconcile MTCs, delivery orders, and invoices for QC and accounts purposes.
- Create work orders as required.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Supply Chain is required.
- Previous exposure to international purchasing is needed.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or automotive environments is preferred.
- Strong understanding of the market, including customers, systems, and suppliers.
- Good command of English.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems.
Physical and operational requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfort with walking, climbing, and moving around a refinery or plant area, including the use of ladders and stairwells to reach elevated platforms.
- Clear speech and hearing, or another effective communication method, to work well with others.
- Ability to stay focused and handle multiple tasks at once.
- Willingness to wear safety equipment whenever required for personal protection in manufacturing environments.
- Sufficient mobility and reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodation, to handle office duties and travel to off-site locations when needed.
