Role Summary

The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for protecting product quality across incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods. This role supports compliance with company specifications, helps identify and resolve quality issues, and contributes to continuous improvement efforts through testing, documentation, and communication with internal teams and suppliers.

Key Duties

• Check incoming raw materials against required specifications through visual review and measurement-based testing, and reject or return items that do not meet standards.
• Maintain and organize records related to quality control and product retention.
• Carry out quality tests on products and production output.
• Observe manufacturing activity to verify alignment with company standards.
• Confirm that products are meeting customer and business expectations set by company objectives.
• Share inspection findings and recommend corrective actions where needed.
• Prepare reports documenting product defects, inconsistencies, and errors.
• Approve work in progress by verifying specifications, performing visual and measurement checks, and relaying needed adjustments to the production supervisor.
• Ensure supplier raw material requirements are followed and monitor supplier compliance.
• Review customer and product complaints, identify root causes, and recommend corrective measures.
• Validate finished goods by confirming specifications and completing required tests.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should bring strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability, along with familiarity with quality control standards and manufacturing processes. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is required, and the ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in QC compliance. ASQ or CQE certification is preferred. The role also calls for solid written communication skills, professionalism, adaptability in a fast-moving environment, and a demonstrated history of improving processes and executing plans effectively.

Tools and Work Expectations

Comfortable use of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel is required. The position may involve travel of up to 30% for on-site work at contract manufacturing organization locations. Candidates should be able to interact professionally and with urgency with customers, employees, and vendors.
