Role overview
An established construction-sector business is hiring an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a permanent, office-based role in County Mayo, Ireland. This position offers the opportunity to support a varied range of commercial projects while joining a team that is continuing to grow successfully.
What you will do
- Build detailed cost estimates and prepare tender documents.
- Measure quantities from drawings and specifications with accuracy.
- Oversee contract review and contract administration tasks.
- Track project spending, valuations, and wider commercial reporting.
- Raise purchase orders and keep an eye on project costs throughout delivery.
- Prepare precise measurements, calculations, and related supporting records.
- Maintain project accounts and up-to-date commercial documentation.
- Work closely with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to help keep projects within budget.
- Use Excel and PDF drawings to produce accurate commercial paperwork.
What the employer is looking for
- A Level 7 or Level 8 qualification in Quantity Surveying.
- At least 3 years of experience working as a Quantity Surveyor.
- Background in the construction industry.
- Strong commercial judgement and solid analytical ability.
- Hands-on experience with quantity take-offs and construction contract administration.
- Advanced ability in Microsoft Excel.
- Highly organised approach with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to juggle several priorities at once.
- Experience with estimating or quantity surveying software would be beneficial, though it is not mandatory.
