Yūgen Contracting Company (YCC) is a multidisciplinary contractor and project delivery firm serving commercial, residential, hospitality, retail, and specialist facility projects throughout Saudi Arabia. The company handles work from early planning and design coordination through construction, fit-out, refurbishment, and final handover. Its service scope covers construction management, general contracting, interior fit-out, renovation, architectural and engineering coordination, MEP works, project management, procurement, and turnkey delivery. YCC places strong emphasis on collaboration, integrity, and a client-focused approach while aiming to deliver spaces that perform well in quality, functionality, and appearance.
Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site Safety Officer position in Dammam. The role exists to help maintain a secure and compliant working environment across YCC construction and project sites. The selected candidate will oversee day-to-day site safety practices, check adherence to health, safety, and security standards, carry out inspections, identify hazards, and help prevent incidents before they occur.
Core Duties
The Safety Officer will prepare and conduct safety training, support incident and accident investigations, maintain proper records and reports, and work closely with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to implement safety controls. The position also involves reviewing and updating risk assessments, proposing corrective measures, liaising with regulatory authorities when needed, and ensuring that safety procedures remain aligned with local laws and site requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
Ideal candidates should bring practical experience in construction or a similar environment, along with strong knowledge of health and safety, occupational health, site monitoring, accident investigation, and security practices. They should be able to design and deliver effective safety training, handle root-cause analysis and incident reporting, and communicate clearly with multiple stakeholders. Familiarity with Saudi safety regulations is important, and professional certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or an equivalent credential are considered a plus. A diploma or degree in occupational safety, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred, and prior experience in a Safety Officer or similar position is beneficial.
Additional Information
This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented approach and strong documentation skills. The candidate should be comfortable coordinating with teams on site, maintaining a strong safety culture, and ensuring protective measures are followed consistently across operations.
