These teams provide services to clients across Asia, Europe, and the US, covering custody operations, fund accounting, middle-office operations, static data management, client referential, KYC operations, client services, clearing and settlement, securities lending, corporate actions, and other cross-functional services.Role OverviewThe Assistant Manager - KYC role is based in Mumbai and sits within the COCE department. The position reports to an Assistant Vice President and supports multiple business lines. The role is responsible for managing daily operations and workflow across client and trading portfolios within CIB functions, while maintaining a high standard of service for internal and external stakeholders. A solid understanding of investment banking operations is expected. The role also requires strong coordination, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.Core ResponsibilitiesHandle daily operational activities across the relevant transaction processing functions, which may span CEP, GMO Processing & Support, and Product Control.Support CEP activities such as KYC operations, client referential work, client services, OCRM, and AML transaction monitoring.Support GMO Processing & Support activities including trade processing, DEC operations, clearing and settlement, instrument data and referential maintenance, external reconciliations, asset servicing and tax, inventory management, payments, client services, post-settlement reconciliation, regulatory reporting, and similar transversal tasks.Support Product Control work such as PNL and valuations control, reconciliation and control, compression, OTC documentation, trading and portfolio controls, and securities trade validation and documentation.Keep communication flowing effectively with peer groups and internal stakeholders.Work closely with internal teams and escalate unresolved matters without delay.Join brainstorming discussions and cross-training initiatives to exchange methods, ideas, and best practices.Respond to queries raised by clients and front-office teams.Coordinate with the trading desk and related stakeholders to escalate trade or booking issues.Carry out daily trade and position reconciliations, review breaks from reconciliation reports, and assess related risk on unresolved items.Validate trades in booking systems.Execute standardized and case-specific controls according to the agreed control plan and schedule.Prepare standardized and custom reports as required and within the agreed timeline.Contribute to transversal projects led by project teams.Support the risk control framework, including end-of-day risk limits, intraday risk limits, and trader mandates.Investigate and escalate breaches of limits or mandates promptly in line with global policy, while ensuring all comments are properly documented in daily, weekly, and monthly summaries and dashboards.Summarize open issues for global V&RC management and help coordinate their resolution.Validate official economic P&L figures and related explanations, and investigate differences versus Front Office Predict.Take part in global and local initiatives, and suggest improvements that strengthen team productivity.Own end-to-end transaction management for assigned client coverage.Work with technology and support teams to identify opportunities for internal and external technology improvements.Perform due diligence on institutional clients across SDD, CDD, and EDD cases.Complete required KYC screening for customers and document client information according to global KYC procedures.Process reconciliations with the clearing house for trades, positions, premiums, initial margin, variation margin, fees, and related items for Asian markets.Suggest control measures and process improvements to strengthen operational quality.Required Qualifications and CompetenciesGraduate degree in Finance or Operations.Working knowledge of capital markets, financial instruments, and investment banking.Good command of MS Office tools, especially Excel.Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.A collaborative and team-oriented mindset.Ability to manage heavy workloads, set priorities, and work to deadlines.Comfort with shift-based work arrangements.Results-driven attitude with a strong client focus.Additional InformationThe role does not mention a fixed vacancy count, compensation package, or start date in the source.
