Role summary

As Assistant Manager, you will support the leadership of a multimillion-pound store and build towards a future Store Manager role. This position suits someone who can stay composed in a high-pressure retail setting, adapt quickly to changing stock and business needs, and lead a team to deliver strong commercial results.

Key responsibilities

• Provide visible leadership and adjust priorities according to store and business needs to support trading performance.
• Make sure store operations follow company rules, procedures, and standards.
• Manage payroll and control costs with the aim of improving profitability.
• Strengthen commercial results through effective merchandising and sales actions.
• Coach and develop team members to raise productivity and efficiency through collaboration.
• Build productive partnerships that help store operations run smoothly and support growth.
• Recruit, motivate, engage, and retain a committed team.
• Invest in your own development as well as the development of the wider team.
• Track and deliver key performance measures including sales, service, compliance, retention, and absence levels.
