Role overview
The Assistant Store Manager helps lead day-to-day store activities, supports the Store Manager with team oversight, and contributes to strong customer service and sales performance. In the Store Manager’s absence, this person serves as the Manager on Duty.
Key responsibilities
- Support store operations and help manage team members.
- Assist with merchandising, stock replenishment, and unloading daily deliveries.
- Handle customer concerns professionally and resolve issues that have been escalated.
- Train, coach, and develop employees to improve performance.
- Carry out cash handling tasks, plus store opening and closing duties when required.
- Allocate work to staff and help maintain a safe, tidy store environment.
- Complete performance reviews and share constructive feedback.
- Ensure company procedures and safety requirements are followed.
- Keep displays and store presentation aligned with visual merchandising standards.
- Participate in hiring and manage employee performance.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of retail experience.
- A minimum of 2 years working in a supervisory or management capacity.
- Availability across days, evenings, and weekends.
- Strong ability to lead others, communicate clearly, and make sound decisions.
- Comfort with juggling priorities and working in a busy, fast-moving setting.

Additional information
These benefits apply only to full-time employees. Full-time status is reached after 25 hours per week for 16 consecutive weeks, with a one-week grace period allowed below 25 hours.
