Role Overview
The Buyer will manage day-to-day purchasing activities and support procurement operations across business units. This role focuses on cost-effective, timely sourcing, vendor coordination, purchase order control, and ongoing monitoring of supplier performance and spend.
Core Responsibilities
- Examine purchase requests and assess requirements before processing.
- Review vendor quotations and compare offers to support sourcing decisions.
- Coordinate buying activities with multiple business units to secure inventory in a timely and economical way.
- Handle purchase requisitions, change orders, and quote requests from suppliers.
- Work closely with vendors and internal business teams to resolve issues and keep procurement moving smoothly.
- Monitor PCard spend, review invoices, and support invoice processing.
- Administer contracts in TCM.
- Regularly check open purchase orders, AP hold reports, and billing reports, and coordinate with finance for royalty reporting.
- Review vendor performance on a periodic basis.
- Develop sourcing approaches with cross-functional teams across the organization.
- Create and maintain systems for tracking all open purchase orders.
- Prepare recurring purchase order reports for management review.
- Analyze spending patterns to identify savings and cost optimization opportunities.
- Manage existing supplier relationships and renew or renegotiate contracts when needed.
- Support the full procurement cycle from demand intake to vendor sourcing, negotiation, PR creation, PO conversion, approvals, and delivery SLA tracking.
- Assist with software licensing administration and understand common software licensing terminology.
- Support supplier management activities such as scorecards, document reviews, and risk assessment checks.
- Coordinate with sales representatives on quotes and statements of work for new sales and obtain SOWs, quotations, and delivery schedules from suppliers.
- Contribute to supplier diversity efforts for US-based teams when needed.
- Be available to work in shifts as required.
Experience and Skills
- Overall corporate experience of 5 to 7 years.
- Strong background in transactional procurement.
- Hands-on experience with built-in financial tracking tools.
- Good analytical ability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort working with US counterparts for sourcing and procurement activities.
- Experience across the sourcing workflow, including demand capture, vendor search, negotiation, requisition creation, purchase order conversion, approvals, and delivery monitoring.
- Exposure to supplier management processes such as scorecards, documentation review, and risk assessment.
- Working knowledge of software license management.
- Ability to collaborate with vendors on quotes, SOWs, and delivery timelines.
- Shift flexibility.
