Car Electronics Installer

Role Overview

In this position, you’ll work in the installation bay of a local Best Buy store in Athens, Georgia, setting up vehicle technology for customers. The role is internally referred to as an Autotech Agent and offers a pathway to progress to Autotech Agent Level 2.

You’ll also guide customers and coworkers with practical advice, installation tips, and product suggestions. Best Buy will provide the training and certifications needed to develop your skills to an expert standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Fit a range of car electronics, such as T-harness remote starts, stereos, speakers, dash cameras, backup cameras, amplifiers, and in-dash units.
• Follow supplied instructions and reference materials to match the right mobile electronics with each installation project.
• Check the vehicle’s make and model, and raise any compatibility issues before beginning the install.
• Deliver strong customer service throughout the installation experience.
• Complete all required training programs and certification steps.

Basic Requirements

• A current, valid driver’s license is required.
• You must have and maintain a driving record that meets Best Buy’s safety expectations, including only a minimal number of violations or accidents.

Preferred Background

• Experience installing car electronics is preferred.
• Retail work experience is also preferred.
