Overview
Paramount Services Ltd. is seeking a seasoned Commercial Carpenter to support its expanding service division in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This role covers a wide range of commercial work, including renovations, tenant improvements, repairs, ongoing maintenance, and service calls. It is well suited to someone who likes practical problem-solving, can work with minimal supervision, and takes pride in producing high-quality results.
What you will do
- Carry out carpentry repairs, renovations, and maintenance tasks in commercial settings.
- Fit doors, door frames, hardware, trim, cabinetry, millwork, and related fixtures.
- Handle framing, drywall, finishing, ceiling tile, and other general carpentry duties.
- Perform maintenance and service work at commercial properties.
- Review and work from drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Operate independently or coordinate with other trades as the job requires.
- Keep the work area safe, tidy, and professional at all times.
What the company is looking for
The ideal candidate brings at least 3 years of experience in carpentry, renovation, or construction. Background in commercial construction or property maintenance is preferred. You should have a strong understanding of carpentry techniques, materials, and construction practices, along with the ability to diagnose issues and finish work independently. Safe, effective use of hand tools and power tools is essential. A valid Class 5 driver's licence is required, and the job involves physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
Preferred assets
- Red Seal Carpenter certification.
- Experience with commercial tenant improvement projects.
- Hands-on drywall finishing and painting experience.
- Previous work in occupied commercial buildings.
- Aerial lift, forklift, or fall protection certifications.
